10/28/11 – 7-9 p.m., Escondido MP Room. Costume party and dance and sugar skull decorating. Bake sale for SIPAPA fundraiser.
10/4/11 – 7-8 p.m., Escondido Library, First meeting of the school year. Review events for the school year. Assign volunteers. Welcome our 2 new Principals: Danae Reynolds, Escondido and Greg Barnes, Jordan
12/6/11 – 7-8 p.m., Jordan Library, Guest speakers from Gunn and Paly will talk about Spanish offerings at the high school level for SI students.
1/12/12 – 7-8 p.m., Escondido Room 5 and Library. Spanish Immersion Informational Meeting. This annual meeting is held by Escondido teachers, the principal, several parents and the SIPAPA board in order to present to prospective SI families the PAUSD Spanish Immersion Program. This is a bilingual meeting. Spanish will be held in Room 5, English in the Library. Contact the Escondido office with any questions: 856-1337.
1/27/12 – 7-9 p.m., Jordan Room H-2. Movie Night at Jordan! A teenage-appropriate movie will be shown in Spanish. This will be for the 6-8th graders at Jordan.
2/7/12 – 7-9 p.m., Escondido Library, Showing of documentary “Speaking in Tongues” http://speakingintonguesfilm.info/
2/24/12 – 7-9 p.m., Escondido MP Room. Movie Night at Escondido! A school-age appropriate movie will be shown in Spanish. This will be for all SI students *and* all Escondido students.
4/10/12 – 7-8 p.m., Jordan Library, Summer Spanish immersion resources. This is an “information fair” for summer camps and other offerings with local vendors.
5/4/12 – 6-9 p.m., Escondido Stage and Grassy Area by the library. Cinco de mayo party with the Stanford Mariachi Band and the Stanford Flemenco Dancers. This is a potluck dinner and dessert party to welcome incoming SI families and celebrate a successful and fun school year in Spanish Immersion. SI families from Escondido and Jordan will be invited.
6/1/12 – 7-9 p.m., Party, private home or restaurant TBA. Final SIPAPA meeting of the year. Welcome new Board members and thank exiting Board members.
